‘நல்வரவு’ (‘Nalvaruvu’ meaning ‘Welcome’ in Tamil) is how you are greeted in Tamil when you look in on the website of ‘Greymode’, as they send a strong message of preserving traditional and cultural ‘Tamil’ values in their product suite. Based at Marappalam in Pondichery (Puducherry), a town tucked away on the Eastern sea board of India, Greymode, a décor startup, is a manufacturer of Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) aesthetic decorative products for home and garden. “Our products are light in weight, add value to your environment, and are designed for ease of use. Also, our products resemble materials like clay, stone, granite, wood etc.” says, Radja Radjane, the man behind Greymode.
What actually triggered the creation of Greymode? Radja says, ” When I was looking for a table with a classic style for my house, I couldn’t find one that is satisfying my need. Therefore, I decided to make one for myself”. “A friend of mine said ‘Imagine a Table resembling a Veena’and that inspired me to create a ‘Veena’ Table and as it came out pretty beautiful, I continued to create similar decorative versions and made this my business”, adds Radja.
Founded in 2014, Grey mode, as of now, has six distinct product categories on their online brand shopping website: Planter, Stool, Bench, Table, Uruli & Fountain. Made of Fiber Reinforced Plastic, all their decorative products are intrinsically crafted with traditional, contemporary and modern designs, bringing nature close to you as the way it is with a gamut of finish options, shades and textures. Ideally suited for small patios, decks, condos and apartments, or anywhere you’d like to grow herbs, vegetables, or flowers, their Planters never fail to impress the spectator or bystander. Their bench, made of faux tree trunk on both ends, is simply easy on the eyes.
The ‘Paanai’ Fountain has a mackable design with a traditional style faux earthen clay pots cascaded in a striking fashion. Now, you gotta ask what our pick is: The ‘Moongil’ Fountain, simple as it may look in terms of design, is a spellbinding water fountain that contains faux bamboos and granite bowl arrayed in rustic fashion.
Have you ever thought of adding a ‘wow’ touch to your table setup? Then, you should check out their ‘Uruli’ product suite including Yaanai, Maadu, Penguin, Kaagam, Thamarai, Alli, Nathai, et al. They also feed the kitty as a perfect choice to adorn a doorway, pathways, or an entrance for a cool welcome. “The biggest advantage of our decor range is portability as they are really light weight, besides being durable, weather and corrosion resistant”, explains Radja.
What lies ahead?
Comprising a staff strength of four, this home and garden decor Startup is looking to amp up its marketing and customer outreach efforts–its biggest challenge so far. “If you are an architect or interior designer looking to impress and exceed your client’s expectations, we ask that you consider a work of art from our decor collection. Ours is also the place to be for decor, garden, plants and nature enthusiasts to grab some great art work”, says Radja.
