Business Story – Consulthive
The inspiration behind starting the business
“When companies ask me why they should go for an ISO Certification, I openly tell them about the risks associated with not having one,” says Vignessh, founder of Consulthive, an ISO Certifications Auditing and Consulting startup firm based out of Chennai. Vignessh, who was previously in the area of Energy management, has been associated with a number of MNCs in various capacities.
Vignessh says, “Companies that are not certified with ISO 9001 may face various risks while operating.” He enumerates, “A company is at a greater risk of damaging its reputation and that could be the biggest impediment to growth. Other risks may include loss of customers, increased operational costs, difficulty competing in the global market, and reduced market share as a result.” Therefore, the risks of a company not getting ISO 9001 certified are obvious. He continues, “If you’re looking to enhance customer satisfaction, gain new business orders, and strengthen your position in the global market by increasing competitiveness, it is important to carefully consider these risks, and you’ve every reason to do so.”
“Companies that are not certified with ISO 9001 may defintely face several risks while operating. If you’re looking to enhance customer satisfaction, gain new business orders and strengthen your position in the global market by increasing competitiveness, it is important to implement ISO Certification standards” – Vignessh, Founder – Consulthive
ISO Certification in numbers
Just for the numbers, India has more than 1,200 organizations that have been certified with ISO 9000. Almost half of the firms in India, that is 44.9%, have obtained international quality certification. As of 2021, the number of ISO 9001 certificates issued worldwide stood at 1,077,884. Check some of the top ISO certification and Accredited certification bodies in India that issue ISO certification below.
Vignessh says, “There are many consulting and auditing agencies in this area, however complete knowledge transfer and continuous support are not provided to the clients always. As ISO Certification is not a one-time process, continuous support has to be provided to clients in addition to the industry best practices and latest trends to improve their organization performance.” He adds, “Every year, approximately 60,000 organizations lose their ISO 9000 certification. And this means continuous, on-time support accounts a lot for the implementation and management of this procedure.
The startup, which is currently bootstrapped, also faces some risks. “There are many agencies engaging in unprofessional practices, providing improper guidance to organizations,” he says. Nonetheless, it is also an opportunity area for us. He adds, “We follow a structured 8-step approach for the implementation of ISO Certificate. You can also check our website for a complete list of certification and consulting services.”
